Kerala Rail Development Cooperation Limited (K-Rail) has come into existence as a result of the joint venture of the Ministry of Railways, GOI and the Government of Kerala to implement new ideas to improve the infrastructure of railways in Kerala. For initiating any project, there’s a requirement of background check and collection of important facts through surveys. So, K-Rail has actively worked towards collecting data through surveys, prepared a detailed project report, getting requisite approvals, acquiring funds for the project, and implementing the
project.
The railway is considered as the lifeline of the Indian transportation system. So, K- Rail has taken up many interesting projects to revolutionize the railway transportation system. The most recent project is the Silver Line Project which
connects Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram through a high-speed rail that runs at the speed of 200kmph. This has reduced the time of travel to 4 hours.
